The plate, PCB, mount, case volume, dampening, keycap material, stabilisers, desk and room all change vibration and sound. A microphone and processing chain change the recording again.
Record controls before adjectives
A reusable test names the keyboard, plate, mounting style, caps, modifications, sample size, procedure and recording position. ‘Deep’ or ‘clacky’ without that context is a reaction, not transferable evidence.
Personal ratings can still be useful
Device-local ratings help one person compare controlled changes. They should not be aggregated into a universal score unless the methodology, sample, calibration and uncertainty support that claim.
